Last week data-dare.com┬áput out a challenge to the Tableau community to create a story without using story points. This is sure to be an interesting challenge, with many new/alternative ways coming to light. Tableau’s story point feature is nice, but can feel a bit clunky

I had a zen garden in my backyard. This garden did not bring me peace, it did not connect me with my surroundings, nor did it free me of distractions. This zen garden did nothing but increase my fear of spiders and hatred of weeds.┬áLuckily for me, we sold this house…

Tableau announced their first feeder competition to their overwhelmingly popular Iron Viz competition on April 4, 2016, and I spent the first week studying past winners and the design / viz style of my favorite authors. Before even looking for data I really wanted to get a sense for what works well in the wild, and what it takes to be selected for the competition. Here are some of my personal findings, realizations, and opinions:
